Three Killed in Broad Daylight Shooting Outside Louisville Driver’s License Office

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A tragic shooting occurred on Friday, February 21, 2025, outside a driver’s licensing office in Louisville, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The incident took place around noon in the parking lot of the Kentucky Driver Licensing Regional Office on Willismore Drive, near Dixie Highway in the Valley Station neighborhood. 

Upon arrival, Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers found one man deceased at the scene. Two women, critically injured, were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. 

Witnesses reported that masked individuals opened fire and then fled the scene in a vehicle. Major Donald Boeckman of the LMPD stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public, although no arrests have been made. 

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet confirmed that the office was locked down immediately following the incident, and all employees were reported safe. The office remained closed for the rest of the day. 

Governor Andy Beshear described the shooting as a “senseless act of violence” and extended his condolences to the victims’ families. 

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and urge anyone with information to contact the LMPD anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD or visit their online crime tip portal. 

The community remains in shock as the investigation continues into this tragic event.
