Former Pro Bowler offers Lions a potentially ideal Myles Garrett trade pivot….

Another ideal solution may have just landed in the lap of the Detroit Lions, who appeared to have no shortage of options to improve their flagging defense this offseason.

As a viable alternative to Myles Garrett, who may be unavailable, Harold Landry has arisen as a top trade target for teams looking to add a premier pass rusher to their roster. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Tennessee Titans have authorized the linebacker to negotiate a contract.

According to reports, the Titans have authorized former Pro Bowl LB Harold Landry to pursue a trade. Over the course of last season’s 17 games, Landry recorded 71 tackles, nine sacks, eighteen pressures, and four pass deflections.

He also started every game. In the past three seasons, the 28-year-old Landry has recorded 31.5 sacks… Landry might be a great trade pivot for the Red Wings. Unlike Garrett, he probably won’t get the kind of king’s ransom that the Cleveland Browns would demand.

Along with 50.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 12 forced fumbles, he is Garrett’s younger brother by one year. He’s an aggressive edge disruptor, the type that the Lions may use to increase quarterback pressure. The challenges of acquiring and retaining elite pass rushers are detailed by Brad Holmes.

Trading acquiring Garrett, who is widely considered to be the league’s top defensive player, would be a challenging offseason task. In order to close the deal, Detroit would have to give up some assets, and a lot of money is at stake.

It may be challenging to find a long-term match for such a player, and there may be reluctance on both sides to complete the transfer. When it comes to helping pass rushers make big plays, Holmes knows how difficult it can be. “Dude, it’s not easy.

There simply aren’t enough of them men to go around. An injury cost us a key pass rusher. No other team will notice that we traded away their premier pass rusher just because we did. Even though you dropped one, we still have one.

Is this one something you’d be interested in? No, they’re trying to win games, and that guy is their premier pass rusher. It’s all year round, not only at the trade deadline and throughout free agency. You won’t locate those guys easily. Those men are expensive to acquire and far more so to retain.

One of them is due for an extension, and we’ve started making plans for him already. When you bring up the idea of having another one, people often ask if it’s financially feasible. Because it is difficult because you want to add it to everything else you already have.

Although Garrett’s availability is uncertain, Landry’s will be obvious. Landry is a solid choice to strengthen the defense with big production if the Lions wish to improve their pass rush without investing heavily in draft assets and future cash.
